Working in close partnership with the university, each gown was developed to reflect its identity — blending tradition with contemporary detail. Our design team created new patterns unique to the institution, ensuring every garment was individually sized and tailored to fit.

Design Features

The set included:
Officer gowns featuring the university’s colour palette and the Staffordshire knot motif
Bonnets and stiff skull mortarboards for the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor
All pieces were handcrafted in our Exeter atelier using UK-woven fabrics chosen for their quality and drape.

Delivery timeframes

Despite the project’s short timeframe, the suite was designed, constructed, and delivered within eight weeks, in time for the university’s summer graduation ceremonies.
