Working at Aura
Shape the future of British ceremonial dress
Aura is an Exeter-based atelier specialising in high-end, made-to-order ceremonial garments for academic, ecclesiastical, military, and civic institutions. Every piece we create is individually crafted in our Devon workshop, combining deep heritage knowledge with modern innovation.
We are a small, growing team and we care deeply about what we make, how we make it, and the people we work with.
Why work with us?
Working at Aura is not about volume production or fast fashion. It is about precision, skill, and pride in craftsmanship.
You’ll be part of a collaborative atelier environment where knowledge is shared, quality matters, and attention to detail is paramount. We value people who are curious, thoughtful, and committed to doing things properly.
We offer:
- A respectful, supportive workshop culture
- The opportunity to work on unique, meaningful garments
- A growing business with long-term ambition
- Space to develop specialist skills and contribute ideas
- A team that values care, integrity, and craftsmanship
Who we’re looking for
We’re always interested in hearing from people with skills or experience in:
- Garment technology & pattern cutting
- Bespoke tailoring & dressmaking
- Machining & specialist sewing
- Hand finishing & embellishment
- Embroidery (machine or hand)
Production planning & technical support
Experience in ceremonial, academic, ecclesiastical, military, or bespoke garments is particularly valued — but above all, we look for care, capability, and commitment to quality.
